Absolutely not - we’re content with what we have for the reasons we have them ( ;) )

Not convinced, based on achieving a similar aesthetic and efficiency, it would be justified.

Currently works well for us.
Cool. 8-) :xl: (Cider another time).

Tonight (for my pre 3rd seq ref) we are 11degs outdoors and 19.5 degs indoors two hours ago and now 19.3 degs at 20.00 hrs. No WBS.

ASHP set to 17.5 degs, current ASHP run cost is around 5-6kWh per day. HWT set at 63 degs.

07.00hrs Sunday (overnight low 5.4 deg)

Lower floor 18 degs
Upper floor 17.7 degs

Outdoors is currently 9.6 degs, no solar gain. That's an average drop of 1.15 degs overnight with a 9 degrees differential between out & inside. I have no idea how good that is in the grand scheme but at least I have a reference for when the remaining 3G goes in. The current number is 0.121 deg C loss per hour in the above conditions.

Weather forecast is for cloud/sun today so I'll see how/if it heats up on a day of hopefully no extremes.

13 degs outdoors.

18.00hrs
Lower floor 19.5 degs
Top floor 20.8degs

All from solar gain or residual heat from devices.

I'll let it settle out and take a 21.30hrs reading to see if we have similar losses overnight. ASHP is set to 15 degs now so it's all build fabric test now.

Edit-
21.30hrs
Lower floor 19.5 degs
Top floor 20.5degs

Rained overnight and 10degs this morning.

07.00hrs (overnight low 5.4 degs)
Lower floor 17.5 degs
Top floor 17.9degs
0.242 deg drop per hr

I'll check again tonight to get a 3 day average for when 3G complete comparison.

Well I've picked the correct days to try and get a handle on the passive aspect of heat retention in the building fabric. Pishing down again. Without a doubt the building is giving up its stored heat so the ashp which I genuinely thought wasn't doing anything was. :D

With hw only running we are using 3.5kWh per 24hrs. That's for two showers. Only a 2.35 cop on that. The other average day 2.5kWh power running at a COP of around 5.5 was gently keeping the build fabric at an even temp or so I surmise.

If I hadn't tried this out I would have sworn that the rads were off. Which is rather cool. 8-)

We are sitting at 19 degs Top & bottom floors. Will check again at 21.30hrs. Leaving the air heating side off for the moment as the back windows will be removed tomorrow.

Been distracting myself with finishing off the wood store move. Now open to insects for the season! :D (I have just washed out the vanport to minimise what is traipsed into the house tomorrow).

Last one's for posterity...? (Please) :whako:

That is a HUGE difference across the area concerned.

Edit-
21.30hrs 11degs, rain.
Lower floor 18 degs
Top floor 19.2degs

07.00hrs Tuesday (overnight low 9.2 degs)
Lower floor 17 degs
Top floor 18.4 degs
0.0947 deg drop per hr

What a difference that few degs makes outside!
