I have a Flir E5 that I bought when it was on offer a few years ago with a cavity inspection camera thrown in, that, I sold straight away on eBay.

It's come in really handy in the past and today, I upped my grid import setting and used it to check over all my system for any potential hot spots. Much more sociable than getting up at 4am ish.

Another tool in the arsenal!
I have a more expensive Flir camera at work but it needs signed out so borrowing the one the guys keep in the van was handy.

I’ve borrowed it when installing PIR, foaming and taping and gives some faith in all the time and effort in installing insulation properly.

You can't imagine glass with most imagers as the wavelength sensitivity is wrong.

You'll either remeasure stuff behind the glass or a reflection.

That E5 can be turned into an E8 with the right tools!

What's the difference between E5/E8 and the one connectable to phone (flir one)? I bought pre-owned flir one on ebay last winter and it seems working fine. Not sure how accurate the temperature readings are but for looking insulation purposes it looks good enought.
