I asked a neighbour to also request a quotation out of curiosity.

He has ab identical house as mine. £48 cheaper which is interesting, but suggests that's the price.

Right, Here are the details:

This is based on a 1,468 sqft 3 story semi detached 2016 new build. 22mm plastic spines with 10mm plastic to rads.

Here is the heat pump and hot water cylinder details.

Expected Annual energy consumption:

sCOP vs flow temperature (I'm loathe to aim for 50C)

Rad Schedule:

And the final price:

My concern is that Heatpunk got a ~10% higher than heat loss than Octopus and that a 4 kW heat pump may be on the lean side.

I also don't like that there isn't currently a heat pump AND EV tatiff, so tehre'll be a compromise. Although, the Tomato Energy tariff (https://camelot-forum.co.uk/phpBB3/view ... 842#p50842) may work reasonably well for us.

I wonder why the install is higher than the BUS ? Are you having a cylinder fitted or is it existing ?

I should think that you will find the 4kW unit more than sufficient, don't forget with a smart meter and ToU tariff you can also engage the immersion here and there to get a boost for the heating - though I genuinely doubt it will be needed.

Seems like a no brainer smegal for the price, if it's good enough. Are you going to get it?

I got told by octopus that they only fit 6-8kw heat pumps and the house was too big.

Initial quote was about £3800 after grant.

Do you know your actual energy consumption with the existing system as a cross-check for those estimates?

I will try to it out. Although we're Terrible at submitting gas readings, so will have to do it as an average.

I'm probably going to get it. Just got one more point to check. I'm now confident that the HP is sized correctly, but there are concerns that a lack of head room can cause issues during defrost cycles.

That is a new cylinder, and a few new rads.
