Are yes, the Tap Wrench, or as we used to call it, the "Scrap Wrench", which was the hardest one.
I think this was my third attempt, and they really made a bang when they were thrown into the scrap bin. :lol:

I don't think I've ever seen such a sunny forecast for here. 8-)

These posts all go to explain why you are so handy with DIY and electronics whereas I have always been a bit dyspraxic and worked in a brutish trade where I could paint with a broad brush, not too bad at pragmatic emergency repairs though.

I was really going for it earlier but have now run out if my T-Rex tape (its ferociously strong), game over till tomorrow, Its food time now. 8-)

The indoor unit is either gassed (only slightly) or more likely its pressurised dry nitrogen. There is a pressure sensitive red indicator on the larger cap. If its not showing the unit is compromised and has a leak. Don't panic when you unscrew the cap and gas starts coming out. :?

Doing my torque test, like lifting airline hand baggage on the small one and hold luggage on the large one, both 6 inches down the spanner. Larger sized units like Stinsy's may require additional baggage weight allowance. :lol:

I double wrap the pipes, once with the supplied PVC tape and second with some Duct Tape. Last time I wrapped the second in the same direction, but this time by accident I am going in the other direction. I don't suppose it makes much difference. :roll:

I'm in the zone again with my new roll of duct tape.

Using my first install as a template, I worked out exactly how far down the drainpipe I needed to pre cut a hole in the drainpipe for the condensate pipe to come out of. 8-)

It was a nightmare getting the indoor unit in place as I had not really thought it through, until I was at the point of no return up the ladder on my stairwell balancing the indoor unit on my head. Luckily my brother was helping me, so he saved the day and brought me up another step ladder. :?
That's the hard bit over with now. 8-)

You can get 75mm trunking designed specifically for this application. Comes in white for indoor and black or brown for outdoor.

Drainpipe seems to be working well for you though...

I used the two part trunking made for the job as that allows the rear part to be fixed to the wall and the cover then clipped over the front after the pipes and cables are tucked into it. That way the pipe etc could just be fed through the wall from inside and left dangling at first, then tidied up and dressed into the trunking. I used a couple of bits of plastic coated fixing band, held by the screws fastening the trunking to the wall, as both a belt and braces fixing for the pipe/cable bundle and as a way to hold them in place whilst I clipped the covers back on. This also made for a neat exit over the hole in the wall, using a bear's paw made for the job. The stuff I used was from here: https://www.saturnsales.co.uk/Air-Condi ... nking.html

Not expensive, either. I used one 2m length of trunking plus one bear's paw, total cost was under £30
