It is pretty much the same as vanilla Go IIRC.
But unfortunately you need the auxiliary load control switch (ALCS) on a second generation (SMETS2) smart meter which I think very few have. I seem to recall the smart meter fitter ask me if I required something like this when it was fitted. I guess it could be retrofitted though.

Shame they are not giving 7 hours away as most storage heaters are designed to charge for the full 7 hours (E7) before the thermostat trips out.

That is a good spot dan_b. I (maybe of the few) that have an ALCS Smets2 meter running my storage heaters. They seem to offer 6 hours at night and an additional one hour in the day, but the additional hour will depend on how responsive the smart meter is. Octopus warn that some afternoon top up may appear on the wrong tariff register.
