Some bit of kit the old A2A HP. Cooling, heating, dehumidifier and tumble dryer all in one unit. The new unit out here has charcoal filters so it's an air purifier too. I'm pretty sure I'll change out the last A/C compressor type system here next year even though it's in the spare room and only sees a couple of weeks use per year. I will enjoy the silence. :D
It is worth noting that mini-split AC units do not dehumidify while they heat, they only do that while they cool!

It is still worth retaining the self-contained dehumidifiers for winter use…
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

(Artist formally known as ******, well it should be obvious enough to those for whom such things are important.)

There should also be a setting to dehumidify only. Our units here have that function? Point taken though when you want them as a heat multiplier in Winter. Daughterly in Edinburgh is now a dehumidifier covert. Her place is so well insulated that the residual heat put out by the dehumidifier is enough to heat her apartment. That will change in a month or so but it's great to see it at this time.

Lovely late afternoon sun here, sitting admiring the panels knowing that at this moment we are not touching grid. :D

That's a nice feeling 😌

Got it down to 8p cost to us per 24hrs at home. One person occupancy and 17degs temp. Not bad as that is shower, cooking, ev, entertainment and stack charging.

Never been this close to balanced at this time of year. Been keeping an eye on Fintrays ashp consumption too. It's looking good for going forward.

8p/day for all your electricity, just more green crap

ASHP has been performing well, COP of 4.8 over the last 89 days. In 19th position from the 108 systems monitored and with the lowest mean outside temperature over that period. :D

That is fantastic 👏. It has truly been truly excellent to watch the system performance you've achieved. The lads offered me an open energy.monitor and network connection as part of the price. I hope that's what I need to start ftom 109th place?

I'm also nipping at the SH times in the home to balance. It's the working week, No1 won't need to be there! :D

Did you go for the full mid metering? Any value in it?

I went MID metering as it is probably the most accurate available and will give you a true picture as to how your system is performing.

Reading this today sent me back to the heat pump monitoring pages to have another look and its surprising to see how flexible some of the set points are. As an example we were advised that running a heat pump low and slow is the best way to get the optimum performance, but on the monitor pages you can see that some pumps with very low flow temps of 35 to 39 degrees and 5kW Hp don't perform as well as say a system with a 45 degree flow temp and an 11kW Hp - so what is making the mid range capacity heat pumps with higher flow temps outperform the smaller ones ?
