Have you got A2A heatpumps? Can't see it in the signature.
We were faced with a choice of going air to water when my boiler was giving us trouble. The issue was our pipes were knackered, full of iron and silt from the previous private well and small rads....it all got a bit expensive.

Decided to go with air to air and tear out the radiators.

In a 170+ year old house we have found the air to air:
- Better humidity regulation as it removes the moisture.
- We dont get the headaches from heating.
- Heats up soooo much quicker
-Far cheaper install than any air to water but sadly no grant available.

We have gone for two separate outdoor units and 2 separate indoor units for contingency of one fails. A 6kw unit and a 5kw. This also helps with the icing issue of the outdoor unit pulling too much through and freezing.

Local company I used was Coolair Aberdeen. Seemed to be the only one who had a decent customer service from all the ones I spoke to. Guy who runs it is called Fergus. Gave realistic timescales as well.

Looking at air to existing wet system at the moment. I do like the A2A which we have in Turkey. +1 for the moisture control on them, a great bonus. Great simple modular approach too. We'll see what Robbie the surveyor says on 7th Oct regarding ashp.

If we do go ashp to wet system i'll be keeping the wbs and a few of the single element storage heaters as well.

I always used the Hull ferry despite living 20 miles from Newcastle. The arrival times are earlier on the continent and meant I could get here in daylight (as long as the unrestricted bits of the Autobahn were quiet). The one time I did use the Newcastle ferry it was full of drunks off on a stag do!

One less sales twonk to deal with. 2 calls from Anglian windows today to confirm appointment at our home tomorrow (apparently). Then this drops in this evening....



I do like that they self clear the decks for me rather than my having to suss them out.
