What size heat pump have you gone for? (sure you've mentioned it before, but can't be bothered to read back that far )
Once i picked myself up off the floor I think im not too far off the 12.5k I seem to remember for the last local install? Add 9 month inflation, a wall mount and i'm ok. The 11 rads (out of existing 14) i've just got to see as essential upgrades and eat the cost with a smile.
For Richbee to save him going back to page 20

Hats off to you Mr F, way too fast for me

Building off the back of JB's post I checked an online indicative heat geek quote recently for the cottage and their systems suggested a heat loss of around 5kW and a price after BUS of £4,600, this was for the 5kW Arowtherm, 150litre HWC, and 2 extra radiators, its unclear from the initial quite if the plinth for the heat pump and a few other bits are outside of the quote so it has scope to go up by maybe another £1,200 after detailed design but I was pleasantly encouraged by the energy loss comparison with my own assessments.

They need to get the kit installed quick so Joe can get back to pumping iron!
Day 1going well. Well I say well, most of the rad pipes are 10mm so i'm plunging ahead and getting them upgraded to 15mm. Spine is going up to 28mm from 22mm.
Rad comparison of old & new. Our request to go large downstairs to save top landing rad having to go in.
15kW PV SE, VI, HM, EN
42kWh LFPO4 storage
73kWh V2H EV
7kW ASHP
200ltr HWT.
3G
Deep insulation, air leak ct'd home
WBSx2
Low energy bulbs
Veg patches & fruit

That's a nice and easy upgrade, going from a 600mm high K2 to an 1800mm high K2 of the same width is a very simple way to increase size without much work...

3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)

And this is 2metre Peter. Not sure why but his label says "Compact"
I am impressed with the plan to do hatches in cupboard floors and ceilings.it looks like we will need 5 hatches total and only one is on a seen wooden floor. Couldn't leave the pipework as is and throttle the system potential.
The HP is on standby, it's been prepped but this wasn't the day for outdoor work particularly as it Is going up on the gable end wall.
Hot water cylinder is in place, controls wall mounted and all rads to be upgraded are off the walls and outside. It has struck me today as to how these retro fits are very much custom built, flexible solutions. Like handmade shoes. Very impressed
