Exactly why when I replumbed most of my heating system, I went with copper instead of plastic.
Whilst 15mm copper and plastic have the same OD, the ID is very different. Then you have the inserts to further compound the issue!

Absolutely, Nora spoke about types of 90's and deburring the other month. Anything to minimise restrictions and pipe turbulence is my understanding. Did you see different performance after upgrading MrPablo?

I'm still running a GCH system so flow rate, etc, is not quite as critical. It's a relatively small house so the runs aren't crazy long.

That said, slightly less noise through the pipes in one bedroom when the pump is running.
The real change came from upsizing rads and adding an extra one to the living room so I could drop the max flow temp even more.

Originally I did all this to prep for a heat pump but it looks like we'll move house sooner rather than later. At least a future owner will have less work outstanding!

Those burrs restrict the dia a couple of mm at least, always file out the burrs and blow out the filings, it does take a bit more time but is sooo worth while, always use pulled bends where possible too.

I used the spike on my pipe cutter and if you angled it right you could get a single spiral of swarf off, which made cleaning things up a lot easier. It took quite a bit of force though. I can't manage that now, but found this modern version is cheap, easier to use and works even better...

Inching towards completion, yesterday was day 16 since the start. We have now given up entirely on predicting when the job will.be finished.

The front half of the house is now piped to 15mm and pipes are insulated. Another 5 rads to pipe in today, pipework to finish connecting ashp to manifold. Hwt swap over to new cylinder. Flue and old hwt removal.and 28mm pipes to run in from upper to lower floor, commissioning....

Tuesday maybe (said he who has given up the predictions)?

All the best in the move MrPablo.

Guys are going for it today. Piping in the last and most difficult rad. Fingers crossed for Monday switch on. What a journey! 10mm thru to 28mm for anyone thinking of installing an ashp.

Pipe upgrades may be a part of it!

The burrs also create localised points of failure due to corrosion because of the fluid flow being altered within the pipework
