The UPS that powers the WiFi Router, WiFi access points, network switches, and CCTV cameras at my house threw a battery error the other day. So I've replaced the batteries.
The original APC batteries lasted 2-years. When I looked up the service instructions online the batteries in my device were described as being "non-replaceable" and the manufacturer advised buying an entire new unit. Now that's not how stuff works in this house. So I disassembled it and found 2x bog-standard 7Ah Lead-Acid batteries. I bought a pair of cheapo replacement batteries for £15 a piece and replaced them.
Here we are 4-years later and the cheapo batteries have again failed. This time I bought a pair of expensive branded batteries for £21 a piece and fitted them yesterday.
Non-replaceable my arse!
