ASHP & triple glazing
Re: ASHP & triple glazing
That's handy, finally got into it. Got the WiFi password in and it's connection failure and I can't get back to where I was to select WiFi and try again. That option box is gone.
As is now with failed connection
As in the instructions and was when I inputted password.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Sent a support request to energymonitor.org and sure enough they responded with assistance up about midnight. That's great and I'm sure I'll progress it today.
In the couple of A4 sheets that are supplied with the level3 kit is a line saying that they will preloaded your WiFi for you on request as Fintray had done. Our installer did not do that which isn't great. Be aware if you go to have one of these kits installed the you do.
The basket of logs test was indeed a 0.5 consumed success.
We are also managing to run the house at 50kWh per 24 hrs in the -2 temps. That includes a low charge to EV (8kWh), so that's low 40kWh's to run it all. Wow!
Not forgetting the cutting back on logs.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
"Running 80kWh days with no ev charge it breaks down to something like this.
35kWh stack
12kWh HWT
33kWh SH
If we can hit a cop of 4 for the rads that 33 should drop to 8kWh. A cop of 3 for hwt would be 4kWh consumption. That would drop the day consumption to 47kWh."
Above from me last week in prediction mode.
Day consumption without EV is 42kWh. That's at -2 to -5 and an average cop of 2.8 between heating & hwt. Looks like we might hit the high 30's (kWh) once the temps climb here.
Looks like two more defrost cycles overnight. Temps are up today for a few days so we'll.see what's what.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
I'm keeping a few of our Hive plugs for other projects but left over with 6 of them.
They are V3, cheers.
Thinking £20 per or a ton for the set of six?

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Morning JB looks like it’s settling down a bit now, I tried to find the answer to my question in the images you have added or text but missed it if it’s there - apologies but what temperature are you aiming for in the house ?
One thing that’s encouraged me is how the DHW doesn’t seem to knock the CoP back as much as I had thought it would.
We’re around 5 degrees here and 1 to 3 overnight and our flow temperature of around 38 degrees has been doing ok so we are more and more confident that when the time comes we will do ok with an ASHP system.
You’ve definitely had a baptism with the weather dropping just as your installation started.
Looking forward to watching the system rich its potential as you get used to it.

Sorry about that, we were at 18.5degs but swmbo has requested 19 degs and that extra 1/2 degree is the goldilocks spot at the moment.
Setback is 19.5 degs from 01.30 to 05.30 (take advantage of cheap rate). Heatcurve is set at 0.35.
We had a full hour this morning where the PV was getting it done and kicking into a 5x multiplier. Frankly mental that this is real. Going to up the setback temp to 20.5 across the tou period and see if we can.preserve more of the stack for no slot days. I am enjoying the experiment.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
It'll be interesting to see how it gets on over a longer term, but seems to be singing now! Flow of 28.6℃ and return of 26.0℃ really is delivering a great CoP!
If you can keep it low-and-slow just like that it'll up there with the best systems!

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Thanks JB that’s made it clearer for me, as Stinsy says once the stats start to accumulate at those flow temperatures you will climb up the tables and be comfortable at the same time !
