Some mixing valves look for a 10 deg difference, we set our DHW to 48deg C

Need to watch the HW temps for legionella purposes.
20-45 = prime breeding temps
60+ = kills it off.

Id suggest 'cooking' upto 60 fairly regularly
4.0kw FIT PV solar Sunnyboy 4000tl & 7 x 570w JA solar panels
7.08kw JA Solar panels & Sunsynk ECCO 3.6kw.
7 x US5000 Pylontechs.
4500l RWH
Full Biomass heating system
iBoost HW divertor
Full house internal walls insulation
600min Loft insulation

Let's not overblow things!

Official guidelines are that you should heat the tank to 60℃ once a fortnight to prevent legionella. However, in the real world, if you're using the water daily it isn't a problem.

I wouldn’t get too worried about legionella in a domestic setting with daily usage/good turnover assuming no issues with immune system.

Different if it’s a place of work and L8 applies

Good information at https://www.heatgeek.com/hot-water-temp ... egionella/

He has his hot water set at 45c and never runs a legionella cycle.

One thing to remember are seldom used runs - particularly any bathroom/shower room that’s seldom used.

I’d be more focused on giving them a regular flush - we would always use 60oC if the area wasn’t used weekly.

In a domestic setting, shower heads are a biggie - big area for the Legionella pneumophila to grow and great opportunity for aerosol production when used.

Legionella pneumonia is bad news.

I survived the 50 deg dhw test. I'll leave it there.

Day 4 begins of the logbasket not being refilled.

Image

We have settled on 25kWhs to recharge system, down from 50kWh's Managed to export a little too. Combined that bring us very close to the £2.50 per day difference since ashp went in. Plus a 75% reduction in log use.

Image

Another typical graph.
Image

Edit- plus half a quid off daily for no gas s/c. That makes us £21 a week ahead of our personal game. I find that incredible. Especially as we went from 100% electric to 100% electric. If I tried to include hypothetical gas costs...
