Everything is progressing, BUS grant has been approved, and I started digging the foundation for the heat pump at the weekend, had hoped to get it finished next weekend, but the weather forecast looks awful.

Making progress, weather was rather wet yesterday so I made up the shuttering frame for casting the strip foundations.

Today I got the condensate drain in, and the sub base in and tamped down.

Frame fits, and sub base at the correct level, all ready for concreting next weekend, weather permitting.

The frames been removed for the week so the rain doesn't damage it (its only cheap furniture board), but next weekend I'll fit it in position, and make sure it's absolutely dead level prior to filling the two outer sections with concrete, glad I have a mixer!

Nice!

If you have a sander or multi tool you can use this to vibrate the wood next to the concrete to get a good finish, assuming you don’t have access to a concrete poker.

Thanks, good idea on the sander/multi tool, no vibrating poker, so that will have to do.

I do have an SDS drill that I can put in chisel mode, but that may be a bit to powerful, I'll see what works best next weekend.

I remember a work colleague over 3 decades ago saying he wanted to set up a company called, "Bodgit and Scarper".

Looks like several folk actually did,

ASHP base is poured, hopefully the shuttering comes off once set.

Don’t know what the weathers been like where you are, Ronski, but we’ve had a few keen frosts the last few nights and forecast for tonight.

Will you cover with a bit of ‘insulation’?
