Thank you for this. The big lounge is sitting at 17degs this morning. Much better than yesterday's 15.9 and blue owl.

Once we have the glazing changed out to 3g it should make a huge difference. The rest of the house is sitting at 18.3 degs. I have to remember that the heat calc was done with 3g figures. I'm just paying the price while we wait. On the upside I'll be excruciatingly aware of the improvement when 3g lands. :D

I presume you are leaving the stove off and suffering in the interest of science.

What about a few storage heaters strategically placed?

We are going with the "heat the person not the home" this year...

I am keeping a look out on gumtree and Facebook for some cheap storage heaters locally though.

Hey Joe, I don't suppose you did any external photos of the windows with the FLIR before the 3G goes in?

It would be interesting to see the colour difference of old v new windows from the outside

House doesn't really get over 15°C even with heating on (boiler and rads are ok)... <1900, 3 storey, 7bed semi, solid walls in poor condition, no insulation, lots of draughts, etc, etc.

Richard,
If you’re heating the people rather than the space try some far infrared panels where you sit - they are brilliant
