TP dont do Perlite unfortunately.
I ordered from B&Q who cabcelled the order with no explanation.
Rang around locak garden centres who only sell thw 1-3mm "coarse" stuff in smaller bags, so had to order from an online horticulture place instead, called Fargro. In west sussex apparently.
Shipped and arrived within 3 days, although i was not happy the guy turned up to drop a pallet off at 6:38am on a saturday!
I significantly over ordered estimating we would need 370L. Only needed 350L and ordered 1000L to give scope to do elsewhere.
We can then do as you have done, and add to internal areas if needed, like the void between chimney breast and plaster in the lounge.
Im specifically wondering if filling the void in the rafters would be helpful given we have room in roof type rooms upstairs. These have 63mm insulated pb over them but compared the the loft floor proper, that now has 600mm rockwool, that is nothing.
Annoyingly hard to get out if there is an issue though so we will wait to see how the toilet fares.
It will store fine in the garage in the meantime, and if neccessary can be used extremely liberally in the garden and for sowing seeds.

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Maybe do like JB, but cut the access hatches at the bottom of the wall and use a vac with a big catch-pot to suck it out?

What a great idea. Thank you.AE-NMidlands wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 4:08 pmMaybe do like JB, but cut the access hatches at the bottom of the wall and use a vac with a big catch-pot to suck it out?
We have a shopvac i could suck it out with from the loft if needed, with an extension tube to get down in the depths. No need to cut anything.
A lot easier getting it in up there, just pour it down the open rafter areas.
The walls were a different kettle of fish though, and quite fiddly.
Now you say that, the vac has a blower function. We could have blown the lot in the wall with alot less mess and smaller holes

Re: ASHP & triple glazing
Slapped a watered down coat of mag emulsion on to see how bad it looked..Happy with the result.
The wall is reading 19.9 degs which is equal to or better than comparable walls. Very impressed with Screwfix plaster. The bag said drops heavy and I now realise what that means after a light sanding. Easy to clean up, all in a line.
The HP is running at a decent cop
Heating only
Heat & dhw
The oem gear is reading again, for the moment.
