I would imagine it would be very effective in a smaller space. We are using it on the balcony and are pretty much enclosed (apart from the front above the wall) and it does seem to create a nice wee environment. All the more as the laundry is creating an open door tent effect!

What would noise level be like in an enclosed room ?

Literally none at setting 1. It's about an 18" dia fan. My upstairs non inverter aircon is considerably louder and I sleep with that on. Call it a whisper maybe.
