Didn't quite make it to Turkey without the use of SH's. That's us on now from 14th Oct. A nice start to the season with Octopus weighing in a few slots this morning when I tried the settings.

I’ve been remotely controlling my home from 250 miles away changing settings based on the weather forecasts. It’s weird how you can tell if things need tweeking without SWMBO complaining.

Example, I’ve no idea how hot the water is. But if I turn on the DWH heat pump and wait 2 minutes, either the water is cool enough for the heatpump to come on or it’s hot enough and it won’t. I just monitor the energy flows and can work out if the HP has turned on or not.
15.2kW PV > 100MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 18MWh generated
5 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 490 m3

:( GCH has now been activated, ready for a short burn each morning and late afternoon.

Tried to hold out, but took dogo for a walk, and checked the local wind turbine, and it was spinning backwards!

Or, to be correct (and honest) it looks like it's spinning anti-clockwise, but that just means it's pointing NE, rather than SW. So flippin cold winds coming in from the north. Brrr.
3.58kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV.
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.

Subzero temps overnight two nights in a row in these parts. But the A2A on the upstairs landing has managed effortlessly on its lowest setting.
12x 340W JA Solar panels (4.08kWp)
3x 380W JA Solar panels (1.14kWp)
5x 2.4kWh Pylontech batteries (12kWh)
LuxPower inverter/charger

I might have asked this before. Is there a way to estimate power use v's heat generated or is it cop est x kWh spent. Interested minds n all that?

Basically: no!

Measuring the energy in is trivial, measuring the energy out with any kind of accuracy isn't possible.

Anecdotally it seems to be way better than advertised, above 4 CoP would be my estimate. Certianly ticking along drawing 500W it produces WAY more heat than a 2kW fan heater. This efficiency only drops in cold-damp conditions when it freezes up and uses energy defrosting itself.

Also think that A2A is the next generation of heating
I have 3 going in at work next month and normally would have left them to it, I will be spending a bit of time with the installers!
