I've seen a few videos by this guy, I like his approach a lot. He is very straightforward and he improves efficiency by removing complexity. Often he fixes underperforming HP installations by removing buffer tanks, zone valves, pumps etc.
Some of his videos have been shared on this forum before so you might be familiar with him.
However this video is what he did with his own house:
I particularly like the bit at the end where he explained it was 10℃ outside and his system was running a c. 25℃ flow temp. Now that is some really great self-modulating heat output!

I suspect our system is very inefficient
Plumber who installed it was good but lacked experience in installing heat pumps so I think our system could be better plus as he wasn’t mcs registered and I missed out on the grant which he said he would organise.
I’ve thought about swapping our 2 heat pumps to a single larger pump if I could get the grant but I don’t qualify now

MCS installations can be some of the least efficient! Buffer tanks are compulsory, oversizing is encouraged, etc.

Yeah, I like his videos too - he's part of the HeatGeek community. He recently did a massive house with the heatpump miles from the main house

Interesting vid. Thanks for posting that.
My MCS instslled system is under warranty until the end of February so i can't mess with it til then, but i was thinking i might try removing the 'volumiser/header' which Grant fit to their systems (worse than a buffer tank IMO) and see if i can get the system to work at the nominal flow rate (30l/min) without it.

Be a real shame if there was a leak in the low loss header and you had to remove it to make it safe.
Which IS allowed under the warranty.
