Martin Lewis criticised by big six

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

And for my FIT generation readings, should I use the reading at the start of today or the end. 8-)
Submitted our FIT reading yesterday and they seemed to think it was a little high so asked for a photo for confirmation which was duly supplied to show the figure stated. Guess I'm not surprised as Feb and March were both very good months sunshine wise. I still felt vexed about my honesty being questioned.

Why did people submit readings yesterday (and cause the websites to crash?)
The capped tarriffs changed at midnight (if I have understood it right) so if you put in a reading taken before that time, surely you just apply the higher price to fuel which should have been charged at the old rate...
A
p.s. I have to submit monthly readings anyway, which I usually do on 31st/1st: today it (sensibly) says this:

Image
2.0 kW/4.62 MWh pa in Ripples, 4.5 kWp W-facing pv, 9.5 kWh batt
30 solar thermal tubes, 2MWh pa in Stockport, plus Congleton and Kinlochbervie Hydros,
Most travel by bike, walking or bus/train. Veg, fruit - and Bees!

I think its less about your honesty being questioned and more to do with a lot of others taking the mickey and trying to claim hundreds of units consumed at the old rate as a "banked" sum for their future consumption.

I think the reason most people have done it (sent a meter reading) is because they heard from others that its the thing to do, some more informed people will have done it to put a line in the sand between their old rate and the new rate to ensure that they do not pay a few days (weeks?) worth of estimated consumption at the higher rate.

In most cases we are talking a few pounds or tens of pounds BUT better that that money is in our pocket rather than theirs in my opinion.

I submitted mine and I did use the end of day ones as did not want to take the piss.

Mine were a little up on baseline for Feb and March but not by much.
Last year was the worst yield for me in terms in kwh per kw installed. Main 4kW system was sub 4000 kWh, first time ever. Also I note my wind farm investments said that wind last year was 20% down which was worst wind year for 10 years. The UK also did not break the solar record last year.

Typically, Solar only changes by 5% year compared to average and Wind by 10% so last years wind was a shock, and was even worse for the rest of Europe which is one of the additional factors for low levels of gas exacerbating the high costs of energy.
18.7kW PV > 109MWh generated
Ripple 6.6kW Wind + 4.5kW PV > 27MWh generated
6 Other RE Coop's
105kWh EV storage
60kWh Home battery storage
40kWh Thermal storage
GSHP + A2A HP's
Rain water use > 520 m3

Cheers Nowty, checking back Jan, Feb & March figures were all up, 48%, 34% & 13% respectively compared to pvgis and overall by 22%. So guess they had good reason to ask and far from being vexed I should just be jolly grateful.
