Just assume that all pumped hydro is actually fossil derived energy - until all fossil-fuel generation ceases during the periods when pumped-hydro is recharging its energy supply.

Normaly we only export about 10% of the total of our own production and import. see p2 https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... al_gas.pdf
and then this cannot help EU https://www.gecf.org/_resources/files/e ... -field.pdf
Compared to the UK where we have done our best to diversify supply the EU seems to have backed itself into a corner. Cut nuclear, coal and gas and just rely on Russia -not the best idea.

One-day-ahead gas price is really low in the UK at the moment.
Re: Todays Wholesale Gas Price 1p / kWh
Since I started this thread only about a week ago the day ahead price has trebled from 1p to 3p per kWh and my Octopus Tracker price has ticked up from 2.8p to 4.8p per kWh.
Still cheap but the year ahead price has slightly increased from 7p to 8p per kWh. That still looks bad for retail gas prices once you add the transport charges and taxes/levies. I reckon 10p to 12p still looks on the cards for the October regulated capped price which might feed through to the Octopus Go leccy rate as the cheap rate seems to be run quite close to the gas price.
