It's a play on "badly"
A pun,a homophonic / homographic...

(for instance Nowty's private number plate as an example, as is ours, loosely put, when you see numbers & letters that create words, ..& why private plates can command a lot of dosh)

Here is a 20 min video going deeper into this thread, & focussi g on byd problems in the last.5 minutes(ish) if you take it at face value then BYD are staunching blood loss, the hire firm about 17 /18 mins in focusing on battery problems (around 1/2 the advertised range / miles delivered, & stacking the byd rejects in a field adjacent to byd itself)
