Another grid-scale battery gets permission

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

It's not in Cambridge though, but up near Leeds! Seems like it'll be connected at the existing grid connection/substation point, and should be online next year.

Its the sort of company which Ripple might buy their projects from, i.e. planning permission approved, grid offer sorted and ready to go.

Thanks, (Pigeon) looks like a multi tiered investment portfolio that flogs things on to other portfolios, of which Cambridge power is 1/6th of what they do.

So many batts rolling out. I wonder how much longer before folk give up claiming that large scale battery storage isn't possible? Maybe 2025, but I suspect the FUD will continue till 2030(ish).

Slightly different situation, but the Tesla gigafactory in Austin, has now installed their 68 Megapacks to help them make better use of RE, pricing, and on-site generation. I assume the ~250MWh battery will be operational in the next few months.

Companies can presumably benefit from batts, not just to avoid peak pricing times, but also the cost of drawing higher loads (or at certain times) for which there may be a fee (leccy pricing depending on the max power, as well as energy).

Changing times.
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
20kWh Battery storage.
