I am not sure about this as it sounds to me like they are confusing zero CO2 electricity with net zero CO2. The former is allusional.
We already have occasional net zero when CCGT production = exports.
We already have where wind alone has outproduced gas in a whole 1/4 yr
As long as i have been following RE Gov and organistions have wrongly estimated things particularly costs and demand.
There is a huge amount of RE in the pipeline largely delayed by connection.
As PV prices drop again and again it is becoming a no brainer to fit.
Domestic and car batts will help reduce the peaks of CCGT use.
TOU and demand management will work wonders.
We will see ,to early to tell.
