but beyond enetrgy, our government is still dead keen on Investment treaty arbitration https://www.signaturelitigation.com/inv ... bitration/
Investment treaty arbitration, also known as investor-State dispute resolution, is a powerful tool that allows foreign investors to pursue a claim directly against a host State in the face of certain adverse actions by the host State.

Consent to treaty arbitration is contained in bilateral and multilateral investment treaties and provides an alternative to the traditional remedy of diplomatic protection, a mechanism whereby foreign investors must lobby their home State to seek protection on their behalf from the host State if their investments have been adversely affected.

maybe I should have titled it as "A tiny step in the right direction"

but yes you are quite right HM Government is by no means a completely fair and amicable body, I assume they maintain certain positions on the basis of maintaining beneficial relationships and agreements for the UK, we the voters have the right to address these with our MP's and then if we are still unhappy with the position we get the option to vote for alternatives.

its not perfect - as we often know to our cost, but its what we have.
