Lets hope the people at Cornwall Insight are not correct on this occasion. I'm sure they would be happy to be proven wrong in 6 years time, it will be very tight though, considering mobilisation, resources availability and the delivery times for major components, I wouldn't want to be project engineering a RE job presently.

Sadly, I'm not surprised by that, so appreciate the huge task ahead if we are to achieve it. But just maybe with firm leadership in that direction coupled with the investment necessary we needn't be too far behind. Couldn't agree more and maybe if the government took VAT of insulation, and RE equipment they would be able to incentivise people to get more of their own renewables to close the energy gap from the other end of the cable ? In this race I think every little bit will help.
