Record hours of sunshine in March 2025 - this confirms what we've all seen with solar generation last month vs previous years!

A far better record than one isolated “half-hour record” of solar generation, if applied/related to the monthly national (or personal) generation?

Even monthly sunshine hour stats as provided by some agency might be misleading because generally for the average over some reasonably large area. Not at some spot location.

For example, the percentage sunshine for the state of New Hampshire is very different from the percentage sunshine on its highest point (clear days on the summit of Mt Washington* are rare)

Even ANNUAL production might vary 5-10%. Because I have to report monthly production to be credited with SRECs (which are then sold)I can relatively easily compare a given month with the same month in different years. Easily can be +- 20%. Even more if comparing Februaries between a year of "open winter" against a year when snowing at least a little bit every couple days. Those might be >100% different.

* Since there is a weather observatory up there, known pretty exactly. This is the location that recorded the highest winds on Earth
