This ones for Nowty
Re: This ones for Nowty
For small dwellings i think a high spin rate and a dehumidifier is the answer as this can also help with the shower/bath, cooking and people in our air tight dwellings.

the hp tumble dryer is a revelation and an essential where there lots of small people making LOTS of washing, ours runs once or twice every other day now the youngest is two but prior to that it was literally daily.
Nothing over than seeing the batteries charging while the tumble dryer is working- before the hp td it would be game over when the old traditional td was on, the meter would go in to hyper drive and the batteries would throw in the ………. Towel

Heaven forbid Moxi any rugrats appearing at ours again, think id have a total breakdown and head for the hills for solitude! Not long managed to 'offload' the 23 year old daughter onto her own path in the world following Uni, hard work enough debating lifes ins and outs with a normal young adult, but one with Sociology and Psychology degrees it became quite the nightmare.
Deffo attracted by the low power draw, although for longer per cycle, so just a matter of popping appliances on in rotation of a miserable weather day. Mrs is looking at a Sharp 10kg model, but by crikey are they heavy, much moreso than a vented variety.

Re: This ones for Nowty
We have a Meaco Zambezi, and I bought one for my sister as a moving in present. It's a dessicant system though as we keep the house quite cold amd it does use more power.
What we've taken to doing in winter is washing at night after cooking tea (so after 1900), split the load and spin it in batches (we have an old washer that leaks but spins fine so we can do it quickly, and the higher power draw isn't an issue due to inverter efficiency at the higher load). Then hang out over night, and use the dehumidifier in the morning, and tumble dry what's left in the early afternoon which is the better production time. I'm going to look at pitting the meadow on a timer to come on during the Flux cheap slot as well.
The system works quite well but we still use the tumble dryer most days, but only for 20 minutes to finish stuff off. If we don't the dehumidifier just isn't quite good enough by itself, the clothes still irritate my skin.
