UK to replace Russia as EU's main energy importer

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

But surely would be great to balance renewable energy production out between Europe

Brilliant link, thanks!

Fabulous. And Norway is split into 5 parts, what a great tool showing all the interconnectors too.
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.

This is how we are going to Flogg power to the Eu. By burning Oil.

The combined reserves of the six sites have 62 million tonnes of oil equivalent fuel which can reportedly power all of Britain for six months.

Looks like another piece of inspired reporting, I wonder how much actual fact checking they did, if any?

A quick check shows Rosebank Oil and Gas field is expected to be able to deliver 40 million tons of oil and gas, Tolmount gas has 220bcf so about 200 million tonnes of oil equivalent (if my calculation is correct), I haven't checked the others, so how do the journalists come up with a combined total of 62 million tonnes of oil equivaent?

Well, i suppose there is a Gas supply conflict in General and it has obviously something to do with Russia-Ukraine conflict , too (well obviously as the thread is about that :D )

As well there is
Many gas-importing nations are more reliant on long-term contracts, which come at a price, but deliver certainty. In Asia, the LNG price is still indexed to oil, a cheap option at $80 a barrel, when the energy equivalent price for gas in Europe is $200 a barrel. Consequently, not everyone is having to pay the current exorbitant spot price for their gas.
from the Guardian

So me thinking .... So it might be possibly true , that there is a profitable deal for the UK to sell to the rest of Europe ,
But, why should that be done ? And export own Gas, while then, as a consequence, buy more foreign Gas in
So where does the UK get its gas from?

About half of UK gas supplies are of domestic origin, from the North Sea. The UK has been a big producer of gas since the mid-1960s, but output has fallen since 2000 and usage continues to rise.
