Flush is better, but it is stil a car on the road blocking sections of pavement ultimately which infers priority over that of pavement users.
If it is so flush then why not on the kerb stone itself ? (my thoughts)
Then we have the cable spillage when connected, I don't suppose those charging will buy a super short cable to keep it off the ground & a non trip hazard, they'll be using the long one in the boot that came with the car.
When we encounter so much trip hazard "you can't do that" health & safety warnings how come the connection end is always ignored, I doubt many plugging in will tuck (via a handy foot) the excess under the car, ..cos it might get wet / dirty / is inconvenient to the charging driver.
So any charger of the street path design needs a fold out locking loop that faces the road to look excess cable from, or face a fine from hungry traffic wardens.
(Or tuck ALL excess under your car as standard or again face a fine, & make it law, ..so a strong flexible loop leash seems best option)

It's mirrored, like so many photos on the web. Presumably they have done this so that it looks as if the car connector will be at the kerbside, when in reality (for that Tesla) the connector would be on the traffic side of the car, rather than the kerb side.
Off-topic, but why are so many photos on the internet mirrored? Videos, too. Even the BBC do it with monotonous regularity. AFAIK mirroring an image isn't something that happens accidentally, so that implies that people are doing this deliberately, as in the case of the Tesla image.

I thought rule 248 of the highway code indicated that you should not park facing oncoming traffic (unless designated parking space). So is this advert promoting breaking of the rules?

Mirroring *might* also be because someone else owns the original image & a reversal, change a few pixels et c fan then be marked as image owned becoming a different piece not so likely to suffer demands based on infringement, cannot remember the legal description right now.

When I see moving parts I see reliability problems...

Its not mirroring because the registration plate is correct.
