Ho hum, & yeah please note that "tiny" footprint of just a few square metres BS they worked into the original conning of the public to ensure it happened,
Wonder what the percentile overshoot in statement by politicians & p.r. was versus the reality of that cuadrilla site pictured?
(Would like to pose that one to an mp or three)
Wonder what the Canadian shale price versus production cost is working out ..Anyone bought out the sites that went bust (& left as an environmental mess despite so called clean up bonds) & reactivated them for another stint of literal "muck raking" (& shaking)

The thing that bugs me is that, apart from the dire environmental consequences, there is no evidence that fracking gas will make any difference at all to the price people pay for energy. Everyone admits this, even the government's own advisors, the UK shale gas reserves are just too small to make any difference to prices, and even if fracking starts today it will be years before gas will flow from it to the gas network, by which time the current crisis will hopefully be over and we will have lots more renewable generation, making shale gas far less significant as a very costly energy source.

Yep, 100%. No significant benefits ever, and zero benefits for years (whilst ignoring all the negatives), so no help to the energy crisis, just a sneaky way to get fracking back on for those that think it will work.
There's talk that the financial cost of the emergency measures to help with bills will cost the UK around £100bn.
Imagine if they spent £33bn on insulation, £33bn on heatpumps, and £33bn on RE. The additional RE, let's say 30GW disbursed across wind and PV, you'd get about 8GW of generation (after applying capacity factors), or about 20% of UK demand.
The UK and EU could have reduced gas by ~30%, eliminating the need for Russian gas, simply by moving faster, or in the case of the UK, not scrapping all of the building standards, insulation programmes, and onshore wind / PV, back in 2015. So much for all the 'green crap'.

Should have read this first, and saved my time ranting:
Just remember folks whilst the govt via the BBC is wall to wall royal ass-kissing & telling people how they should feel (about the queen) "urging" folk to lay flowers so it can pan cameras across the scenes...
The phrase, "Today is a very good day to bury bad news" ...because that's how snake oil they are.
It starts with fracking being back on the menu & all the hokum associated with it, "the dragon was only sleeping" type thing.
What's next? That they have a 3 day window now, & a total of 10 days diversionary smoke blowing opportunity to push seemingly kaput agendas.
I'm happy that a 96 year old lady slipped off painlessly, quietly, & quickly, never mind who she was.
(My wife rushed off to attend her own complex case, dying patient at a city hospital last night & left the boot of the tesla open, ..I couldn't lock it (umbrella blocking sensor) so it sat open, she wanted to ensure she had someone around that they knew as they passed.

Mogg taking a fracking pummeling from his own party.
How long can be withstand this degree of hate from his own side.
He ignored replying to the angry mp & chose simply to announce via the media as "acceptable notice" ...arrogant twat.
All I can say is, drones are cheap & can drop explosives / firebombs from above, as per ukraine.
smug lord snooty-rees-mogg has also opened up a challenge to get diggers on his lawn on the sly & create mess matching a fracking rig compound, seeing as he said he'd happily have one in his own back garden due to all the lovely royalties coming his way.
would be nice if king charles challenged him to put his money & mouth into gear.
Labour tabled a motion on the Fracking bill in order to take control of commons time like they did back when Teresa May was in charge. So the government had to vote against it as it was effectively a vote of confidence against the government.
Complete breakdown in commons with accusations of bullying in the voting chambers and allegedly the chief whip resigned even before the vote came back because of the situation.
MPs were allegedly physically dragged from the Yes corridor and manhandled through the No corridor.
