Patagonia (brand) puts all its money where it's mouth is.

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

Patagonia (brand) puts all its money where it's mouth is.

We have always bought a good few Patagonia pieces based on quality, repair service & ethics.
Therefore this comes as no surprise.

Having bought some of their long lasting T-shirts in May 2020 I was gutted to find they are now a poly-cotton mix, still tough but not the same, that's My dilemma, I seek out ultra heavyweight 100% cotton, any brand I've bought that are organic cotton have been thin as hell, nothing like What we used to be able to buy in the 80's & 90's ..some of which I still get good wear from today.

The repair service for Patagonia is more prominent abroad, but it exists, as with the likes of Lowe Alpine, so we have to check on websites & see if there is a local event taking place & consider stuffing something in a suitcase.

Try these for heavier weight tshirts. May not be ultra heavyweight, but will be thicker than a lot.

I switched from cotton to merino for t-shirts a few years back. Really comfy, warm even when wet, naturally antibacterial so doesn't smell. Bit pricey, but lasts a long time.

Pockets on t-shirts? ..aargh!

But seriously, thanks Smegal, it's not far off what I was paying for Australian made Reg Mombassa manbo in the 90's & early O'Neill (before they sold out on quality in the 1993 European ranges) ..they last built well but disposable Primark philosophy screws the market righ over.

Merino walking socks I adore, worth the expenditure for some bridgedales in a sale.
(also means packing & flying lighter when I was in the Alps in a cheap box room)

Anyone with a Costco card? ..Columbia hiking pants deal (was 3 pairs for £15) are back in october, but savings! ..highly recommended mountain wear that if you are camping a hiking trail you *can* get away with several days wear without feeling chafed / whiffy, ..makes them very well priced so far sports undies as well ..without spending £40 on some merino long short undies, ..good for a pre on cold streets when your body is too cool after a hard day too!
