A cable fault on Friday afternoon left dozens of homes in East Renfrewshire without electricity.

Scottish Power was made aware of the fault around 11.30am on December 30 which left around 40 homes in the G46 area, which covers Giffnock and Thornliebank, without power.
[After a] cable fault in the area affecting around 40 properties, we have restored power to the majority of homes and will have the final customers connected by 4pm.
Another example of local workers doing what they do perfectly well, as long as they are allowed to...

I think it was a link from BBC SW Scotland news of flooding in the area, as son and 2 granddaughters driving home tomorrow: A 702 Abington to Biggar currently shown as blocked on one website (Michelin?) but only some delays on Google. Should be sorted by tomorrow p.m.
