Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

Yes its been in a few papers today also, I wonder if the market will react positively to bring the date forward, ie people start to buy BEV's preferentially before the due date and the car companies deem the production of ICE vehicles to be uneconomical and therefore end production.

I imagine there will be a similar critical mass "wastage" that sees petrol stations either switch over to charging or close up - is the day coming where petrol and diesel drivers will have "range anxiety" ?

Its going to be interesting watching how this transitions

Gonna be interesting to see how the likes of BMW respond to this too as they've been really dragging their feet on transitioning to BEVs - wonder whether they might double down on Hydrogen again?

Oh I hope not!

Its a great gas and lots of chances to use it at the industrial scale but trusting your average person in the street to either burn it at home in the boiler or refuel their car with the stuff is asking for catastrophe.

Its a tricky gas to store handle and combust safely and doesn't lend itself at all well to mobile transport.

Hydrogen?

Whoompf there it is!

Or not, especially since the closure of the majority of the hydrogen fill stations!

Therefore the flammable car / consumer scenario is tiny, because you can't exactly get hold of it.

How come hydrogen range anxiety was never really mentioned by the media for these? ...."fix"

Not to mention the woeful energy storage density.

I can only see hydrogen playing a part in areas (probably industry) where it can be piped to the point of use.

I use BMW as my fall back for any chart titled 'EV's', but not clear if it means BEV's or HEV's through to BEV's.

If BMW does well in the comparison, then it's not just BEV's. ;)
8.7kWp PV [2.12kWp SSW + 4.61kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV]
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
20kWh Battery storage.

Legacy auto is stuck between a rock and a hard place, declining ICE sales while they try and ramp EVs from a high debt position.

EVs now on price parity with ICE for £40K+ vehicles, likely price parity at £25K+ in two years, maybe less.

I think many will fail, look at Ford, cant make a profit on Mach E and just halted F150 lightning with battery production issue.

Most other non tesla EV manufacturers using ICE vehicles as base for their EVs, the biggest one Toyota not even in the game yet!

Next few years are going to be interesting

I simply dont get Toyota at the minute I thought they would be all over the EV scene like a rash and I have been waiting patiently to no avail - our other car is a RAV 4 and we like Toyota but for the EV we ended up going for the EV6 due to a lack of alternatives from Toyota
