Not being a regular listener of this anymore, I find it playing this morning the omnibus edition.
Mentions of a "blot on the landscape" big ev charger on a farm, miles away from town (borchester) & never a mention of a nearby motorway make me think its an ill thought pc storyline BS. that is toing to go silent like a lot of the jobbing cast do for months on end.
About as likely to happen as a payg farm charger hub would be up a muddy lane round here.
Is crack the new creatives drug of choice at the bbc? ..might explain the madness.
An EV charging hub, in the countryside, on a farm, ..in Ambridge!?

Re: An EV charging hub, in the countryside, on a farm, ..in Ambridge!?
The Archers one is an insane idea from the Script Writers. Locally a small garden centre, with a busy coffee shop, has just got planning for 10 x 120Kw charge points via Instavolt. Win win for the garden centre, ground rent and a lot of extra custom. It's about 400 mts off the A30 so ideal location.

Thankyou Beeman, sometimes I feel such a curmudgeon, I put forward the same idea for a charge location to BP chargemaster some years ago for just off the black cat roundabout connection, (a long way round route i used to use to get to agricultural college) ..the roundabout was a notorious blackspot, upgraded in the early 90's displacing the local farmland & carving through lovely ancient countryside, the garden centre was previously "way back" now near the expansive road upgrade, I don't know whats next becuase its been marked up for full on fly overs next year or two.
Again good parking, loo's, cafe, shopping, even a homebrew shop.
(Roxton, Bedford, MK44 3DY)
Meanwhile there are superchargers at wyboston a few miles away 8, which get busy enough with tesla charging, I'm anticipating another 6 or 8 at a 90 degree angle to the originals, right by a big pylon, & a cement plant, soI anticipate enough capability with a newish gas power station(barford, but actually in eaton socon / eynesbury land on the Bedfordshire border) tiding needs over for 12-18 months.
See map, how cracked out are the archers writers, doubtless a new & exciting set of renewables brought problems storylines

Re: An EV charging hub, in the countryside, on a farm, ..in Ambridge!?
I should have added that the existing car park is never full so an additional 10 cars won't be a problem for us normal users, in fact the lorries delivering to them use the same area with no grief.
The only abnormal planning condition is for signage about noise, car radios etc no engine noise of course, between 8pm and 7am for the neighbours benefit.
