Honestly - I don't think it'll happen.
JLR is in a mess, and Brexit has screwed any real chance of decent inward industrial investment.

I agree.
Lot of unfounded hope locally, though. And I presume plenty of regional funding to clear the way for a large unoccupied site.
Still, fingers crossed.
We do have Nic Cage and Johnny Depp living locally, so Elon would be a very welcome addition

Ex Royal Ordinance site next to a solar farm, if it doesn't come off it can be turned into a larger solar farm.

Maybe put screw-piles in the contaminated land, loads of pv which can be moved round to keep an income stream coming to fund the ongoing remediation?

Overhead solar, then you can get direct line to fill the area below with the 1000's of cars they have parked out on various raf base runways around the country.
I'm wondering when BCA will roof their auction storage (massive part roofed compounds at each site) with solar as a secondary stream of income.

Why did the govt let the uk owned? northern one go down, yet word s 500 million taxpayers money to foreign owned Landrover Jaguar?
