I wonder if the ongoing issues at Hinkley C are part of the reasoning for the increase although interestingly EDF still believe they can build 6 more reactors for 22.46 Billion Euro's per pair still significantly less that the Hinckley C current costs, obviously the COVID element of the bill and the first of type safety case can be decoupled for the French reactors but I would be surprised if that alone could address the difference in projected costs?

Flamanville unit 3 should be being fuelled up at the moment and hot commission mid 2024, original price 3.1 billion, current estimated out turn costs 13.5 to 19.4 billion depending on what you read and where, so maybe the 22.46 billion is realistic ?

Interestingly, Olkiluoto 3 has just been taken offline for planned maintenance/refuelling for the first time since being commissioned a year ago

As you say, Flamanville 3 is due to start fuel loading this month.

Lets hope the outage goes smoothly and doesn't kick up any unexpected issues or anomalous findings, the last thing anyone needs at the minute is more questions about the technology type.

Meanwhile at the Sizewell C site, they've bought some more land - feels like this is going to happen now regardless

And over at Hinkley Point C there's this bit of news.

Is this good? Spoil from HPC to be used for the foundations of a new battery factory?

And at Flamanville, they have regulatory approval to start fuel loading at the new EPR there.
