Upcoming UK cheapest EV. I've only been in one Dacia, 2wd duster in Turkey and it was absolutely fine. Great to see an EV at a more reasonable price.

Looks good - Dacia are now part of Renault, aren’t they ?

Similarly, driven Dacia Duster a few times as a hire car.

Tried to find fault, but couldn’t - is what it is.

Sure it’ll find a ready market if the price is right.

So is this the equivalent of a nissan Juke or something?

We got to geneva airport after a flight a wee while back, pre-booked car & the usual gamble of what you are going to get..

The young guy at the desk decided to have a car joke at our expense by offering us a Dacia & expecting us to be repulsed by it's "common" nature.
We happily accepted at which point he realised didn't care (upset at getting a bloody diesel, yes) but a dacia ..fine, doubt it would fail from new like the VW did, travellers aren't that choosey, it's ALWAYS an upgrade at geneva regardless, so you may as well book the smallest car you are prepared to accept & be given something WAY bigger than you need, we have to ask the size each time due to knowing the underground parking drama we encounter. (If it was cheaper & shifted like any other car, Dacia? no problem)

I think the smallest we've booked is ford fiesta type size (really) knowing that we'd get some big people carrier regardless... (& we did)

It makes eco driving abroad a trauma to book ..as written about when trying to book the "imaginary" BEV's from all the hire firms previously & finding out they had precisely bugger all available & fobbed folk off by saying we have 3 but they are all booked up for 6 months ahead (complete Ollocks) swap selling being part of what they do, ..easy "concentrated" greenwashing for them.

Don't forget, Dacia have been back under renault's thumb for 20+ years.

Seat used to suffer the same snobbery.

The weight on this Dacia is interesting, as is the battery pack, which by public perception & real world range could be its undoing because of "human, stupid" & the too oft cited perception for the biggest mo-fo battery regardless, so their marketing team better be ready to state, cheap mobility with not too much compromise.

People are constantly amazed (they ask) that we charge 3 pin "with a tesla"!? ...because of all the hyperbole, in effect across 2 BEVS we have charged from home some 50,000 miles without much drama, AND it's countryside.

I'd be keen to know how much they have focussed on aerodynamics rather than recreate the faux SUV market with a basically a tweaked copy of the juke (at first glance)

Would still like to see the old A class merc as an EV update stripped down with the removable seats configuration as the small car market needs small but mighty rather than the new Ami copy of the citroen AMI tweaked and styled as the new topolino, a vanity project left wanting. https://www.fiat.com/fiat-topolino/topolino/colors

We need people to move to smaller less material consumptive vehicles as part of electrification via clever design, the A class as a 5 seater potentially was great at that tardis effect!

This still suffers the bloatyness of a saline pumped chicken fillet ..grr, got in a juke once it felt like the smart on the inside.

Not a criticism, but worth noting that the Dacia Spring is a Chinese built vehicle, made by DongFeng under their joint venture with Renault. The MG4 (also Chinese) is a great car, so things are changing fast. And of course, the Tesla £'s and Y's that come to the UK are built in China.

Think it's a lot smaller than a Juke, the article I read said it was only just bigger than an Up!

My stance correction shoes are being put on now RB

If so I'm keen on seeing that in the metal flesh.
