Given Russia's recent behaviour this move, albeit a modest investment, seems prudent, it also suggests the government is more interested in SMR's for future needs as suggested by the higher enrichment requirements above the current standard produced at Urenco for existing reactor types.

Just looked on the edf page and three reactors off now, 2 at haysham and one at Hartlepool with their second reactor currently powering down to review the same steam valves as its sister station at haysham stage 1.

Getting a bit tight

I suppose we should have expected it as they’re identical stations but normally they try to stagger the inspection. I guess the steam valve failure carries significant safety risk and initial findings from Heysham combined with a staggered inspection at Hartlepool must indicate a high probability of failure so they’re all coming off the bars together.

Safety first.

As you say Nowty- a real time stress test for load shedding for the grid.

And we have been getting zero net import on the interconnectors today which is very unusual.

Its pretty chilly for our continental friends at the moment.

Double trouble.
