The Great Grid Upgrade

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

The Great Grid Upgrade

Post by dan_b »

This slipped under the "all things interconnector" radar - for which I apologise!

We already knew about Eastern Green Links 1 and 2 - the new HVDC links on the East Coast to bring renewable power down from Scotland to England.

It seems National Grid recognizes these aren't enough and has put out consultations for EGLs 3 and 4 as part of "The Great Grid Upgrade".

More digging required, but it looks like being in the HVDC cabling business might be a good one for the forseeable future!

I love it when a plan comes together.
3.58kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV.
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.
