Renewable's overtake gas in the UK supply for last winter

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

Crikey - I had a look on Wikipedia to see if there was an article about all the gas pipelines coming into Europe. And yes there is.
Just look at the number and size of them - goodness me.

Much of the reduction in gas use for electricity is being brought about by our increasing imports, making up 25% over 24hrs but reaching 30% at times.

Looking at the title I think wind alone beat gas over the last winter but not the yr. ?

Figs released yesterday confirm that Q4 2023 was, so we just need to wait for Q1 2024 - whats the betting.

You might be right. I think RE as a whole beat gas in Q1 2023.
3.58kWp ESE PV + 2.0kWp WNW PV.
Two BEV's.
Two small A2A heatpumps.

Wind produced more than gas both Feb and March 2024. March Wind 8Twh Gas 6Twh. Cannot find Jan

In 2023 Wind 79 Twh and Gas 86Twh

Gas use as slumped so much in 2024 (after 2023 22% reduction) both here and the EU that i assume we are no longer importing Russian gas.
