Not sure whether to post this as a new story or somehow merge it into one of the other threads about interconnectors/ grid.
We've heard a lot about the need to reinforce the grid, and in particular with the 2x new HVDC connections bringing energy down from Scotland to the East Coast. This in addition to the Western Bootstrap already in operation.
But this is the first I've read about an HVDC link within England - to bring power from Suffolk, down to Kent (and therefore either into London, our out to Europe). I guess Suffolk makes sense due to Sizewell C and all those new off-shore wind farms out in the sea?

Maybe get shares in HVDC cable manufacturers?!
