I’m was in Nowty’s general neck of the woods today and passed a gritter actually gritting the road at 7:45 this morning in Wickham. A bit odd because the temperature was a brisk 10 degrees- I just thought it was some strange southern thing but maybe they new something?

Tonight I’m over in Kent not far from Marshman, although the closest I will be to him is Rye. Two sites then a steady cruise 365 miles back home estimated 105kW so two planned stops at super charges. There are so many chargers now compared with a year ago it’s positively brilliant- mind you the government needs to think about the cost of power if they really want folk to embrace ev’s

Nice meal in a quiet country hotel, the stove reminds me of a house that I nearly bought in the Lake District that had the exact same model - is it a Dunsley?

We passed a gritter down in Edinburgh area a few days ago, thought (hoped) it was just out for a test run?

Hoping this cold snap recedes as I don't want to be into SH season quite this quick! WBS has been on for about 10 days now. No other forms of heating (yet).

9 degs here this morning, 8 degs now.

Just think of the increased power output from cold panels tho

Eith regard to heating we have already run the gch a few times in July and August as it’s been THAT bad !

Sorry to hear the gch getting run up, especially in July.

I'm very much sunny side up. Still banging power into the grid and running close to par on power costs each day with a slight profit. Feeling quite zenlike at the moment as we've done pretty much all we can on PV here and interested to see what it does between now and Dec.

I have plans to up insulation maybe.

Let's hope for a mild dry Autumn.

I’m not listening to you lot anymore

There’s been a definite north south split in weather this year as well as an east west divide - my particular problem this year has been either low cloud base or overly high positioned solar panels ( you choose) that on many occasions have managed 0.5 to 1.5kWh for a full day in July and August.

In a while in winter and very early spring but this year we have had days and days of this eternal twilight.

Snow? whats that? dont get even a sniff of it down my way, rarely gets cold enough for that because of prevailing wind, shame because i quite like a bit of snow and the fun it can give. Ice pretty rare to, poss had that 10 times in the 13 years ive been down these parts.

We do get more than our fair share of mizzle and sea mist here through the colder months, often for weeks at a time, totally destroys any solar output so im not a fan, everything gets soaked throough and its unpleasent. even the postman wears long trrousers then.

But this summer has been one of the worset i can remember for decent weather. We lit our log burner the other evening, small 'test' burn pre heating season more than anything, but was a nice to see the dancing flames.

6 degs and bright blue skies this morning.

Away in the Bongo overnight Saturday to the coast where river Spey hits the sea. If all goes well, there may well be a late season 5 country Euro trip. Holland, Germany, Belguim, Luxembourg & France.
