Interesting study here. It seems a small minority of drivers purposefully swerve in order to strike animals on the road. But of that miniority, the vast majority of those were SUV drivers.

Wonder if the same level of hatred and blood lust applies for when SUV drivers see cyclists in the road? Would explain something...

General disdain & malaise rather than outright hatred.

However, social media can play a part on both sides, influencing "idiots who do" & also rallying the cyclist clan to out the idiots & the firms vehicles they often represent.

I was involved early on with one idiot who did this with purpose to a cyclist & filmed it whilst driving, mocked & railed against cyclists whilst doing it, her social media linked her to her office based firm, I got on the phone to the office manager to warn them that there was going to be a ****storm but they "needed" to look at their employee (name) to understand & work around it, that being the polite thing to do.

She was sacked & they were firm in their response over all platforms as to behaviour towards others.
As I recollect, she was on her way to work, & late, & so by her actions indirectly involved the firm from that point, which others started to "pitchfork" with.
I don't know how they would have reacted if I had not because they were being dragged into the storm (unawares) which may have meant they took a different direction if uninformed as a fairly legal based business.

I "think" the bosses likely had the weekend to watch in real time the actions associated with their employee, & the sheer weight of alerts linked to it & their company, which likely swung the axe before monday came around.

It made for an interesting phonecall, as it was to a line a desk or two away in the initial (via research)

Social media stupidity, needs teaching in schools over & over.

I remember hitting a fox at ‘around’ 70mph one night. It ran from under the armco on the central reservation. It certainly got a headache - the front grill on the Volvo 440 was toast, plastic bits were embedded in the radiator (luckily it was not pierced) and the front crossmember was severely indented, presumably by its head.

I carried on for the last six/seven miles to home, while keeping a careful eye on the oil pressure and water temperature gauges.

My ex was seen one night with a deer under the front of her car.

A dash cam is a must these days. I have one at the front and rear of my little rot box.
