Haven't dug through to check that it's still true, but the original plan was that these would also be available to self-builders which may be of particular interest to some on the forum.

Heat pump related. Just became aware of these hybrid units today.

How does the grant fit in with the RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive)??

Unfortunately every option to "download a brochure" on their website leads me to a form to be filled in with all my info. Bad luck, as it would have been interesting to see.

I guess I already have one, because I did not replace my gas boiler but added my small experimental heatpump in parallel with it so I still have the choice.

Note - my gas boiler has been switched off since April this year and I have a personal target to break my low gas use record from just over 4000 kWh per year to 2000 kWh this year May 21 to April 22. My historic high gas record was 28000 kWh 11 years ago before all this renewable stuff.

Thanks. Very interesting, as I'm getting ready to update our system...

It is good to that there are interim steps that can Incl gas too. Nobody wants to pay 35p per kWh in the hard months. I'll keep this in the back of mind for the day the gas boiler craters. We used to use Daikin split air cons offshore on the shacks. Would as a rule run 24/7 for 2 years before needing a regas. Could get about 4 years out of them in harsh conditions. Decent gear.
