I remember hearing about rovco back in the day. Bought a load of older systems with all the entailing old system problems. Not cowboys but not quite there for a fully pro rov mob. For which tbh you need enormously deep pockets. The old £15,000,000 raise won't go very far.
I'm not sure the WF's will be profitable enough to fund quality workclass rov's beyond WT installation? Could be a difficult one. Will likely have to be eyeball rov's for the inspections not workclass?
The shallow water currents and viz issues further compound it. Who pays the stand by rate for the vessel while waiting on environmental? If its a marginal rov company who win the contract purely on price you've then got equipment issues, spares issues and personnel issues coming down the pipeline. Wouldn't take much to knock over a company if they are out there and being hit up for vessel downtime due to equipment breakdowns and being held to 90 day payment after receipt and acceptance of invoice. A shame for the employees.
