Bulb about to blow

Any news worthy story. Good things to watch at the Cinema, Theatre, on TV or have you read a good book lately?

Allowing a company with 10 or 20k customers to fail and expecting a big company to take the loss-making customers on, is one thing. 2million customers is a whole other story. That is where the system no longer works. I can’t see government having any other choice but to prop them up.

Bulb is actually bigger in customer numbers terms than Octopus.
The only energy companies "bigger" than Bulb in the UK are:

British Gas – The largest energy company in the UK.
EDF Energy
E.ON
npower
Scottish Power
SSE
Tesla Model 3 Performance

The "big six" will come out of this stronger. They'll have fatter customer books and fewer competitors. Is this a failure of the system? or Is this how the system was designed?

The original linked article says
The collapse of one of the biggest challengers to the big players - the largest of which are British Gas, E.ON Next, EDF Energy, Scottish Power and Ovo Energy, which acquired SSE's retail business - would be a blow to hopes of a more varied and competitive market.

Octopus Energy, which like Bulb supplies 100% renewable energy, has established itself as an independent, well-funded challenger and now boasts 2.5 million customers across more than four million accounts.
so that puts Octopus as no. 6 now, not quite the same "Big 6!"

There are loads more small ones who are going to fail, the small ones are no problem to deal with but "Bulb" or any larger ones cannot be passed on without government help or else the rest will collapse like a pyramid scheme and re-nationalisation almost guaranteed.
