well , that article misses one important point and that is the grid !

Battery storage is not the most important idea for independencey and it might be the most cost intensive option

In winter there is more wind in the UK , but in the sahara it is in summer

so the more a grid network is created the lesser we need storage

As much as i am a supporter of going off grid , i still support his vision to connect and balance demand and supply

I find that saying battery storage can only be for 1hr ridiculous. Yes some is just used for frequency response but it doesn't have to be limited to just that. My batteries will last days/months if I wanted them to.
