Sergiy is a solar experimenter who lives at a latitude similar to Penzance. He is obsessed with reducing the cost of his mirrors and receivers.





He is not immune from the war.

Not sure where I saw it (Mythbusters?) but someone made really simply solar concentrators using mylar sheets spread over bowls, half pipes and even boxes and pulling a partial vacuum on the reverse side to create a smooth concave profile which was effective.

That said solar PV still seems the better option for the majority, enjoyed the video's though.

Good luck to the guy!

The problem with all this is that Solar PV is so: simple, cheap, effective, and low-maintenance that all this becomes a bit pointless.
