Anyone here trying? My panels are on my pergola and between the upright posts I have at the moment 2 x 3m planter boxes and probably will be about 10 of them, in one I currently have strawberries that were moved from the area where I built the decking, any thoughts on other fruit/veg/plants that will grow without direct sunlight? I've read some of the root veg should do well but it seems to be early days of the research.

Something I would bear in mind follows on from a scheme devised by a clever gardener friend in the chemical lab where I worked.

We were talking about slats for greenhouse shading, and I suggested that if they were horizontal they could be rolled up towards the ridge when there wasn't much sun. His reaction was that on hot days as the sun went round you got burnt stripes parallel to the ridge on the foliage where it was in the light for too long, even if not all the time. (I think he had been there and done that.)

He said that vertical slats were better as the light was guaranteed to move across the plants, although it made them more difficult to fix and adjust.
