How's everyone doing in the veg garden ?
Maybe a bit late starting but had a good day.....
Propagator out and set at 21c . Have Tigerella, Allisa Craig and Queen of the night tomatoes sown.
Green Chil and Red Habernero. Yellow Bell pepper.
2 trays of broadbeans sown in sheltered corner along with Celeriac and leeks.
Tea tonight is bought breaded fish with homemade chips in SWMBO's new airfryer with a token salad from the garden.

Chard and Kale still going strong, few bits of ‘salad’ - curly type lettuce, chicory and parsley.

Next years, whoops, this years Garlic looking good.

Had a pesto made from sage and parsley from the garden - it all seems a bit ‘mend and make do’ but I suppose at the scrag end of the year, anything is good.

Really need to get out and do some more prep.

Bit of a disaster with my vedge box last years, I think too much compost and the only thing to really flourish was the courgette. :o
Preparing the ground for new box with 6 meter Poly tunnel. Any ideas of the best mix for the box? I have a huge pile of rotted seaweed and wood ash from the wood burner. Thought mixed with earth and leaf mould...
Off grid.
3.9 kw solar panels
6 x solar collectors
40 kWh rolls batteries
Orligno wood gasification boiler
2000 litre storage tank
Lister generator...

I haven't started yet, apart from the garlic, which went in before Christmas.

Garlic planted a week ago at the allottment is just peaking through.
Planted onion sets today and in trays some Pak Choi , lettuce, beetroot and Kale to transplant when grown. Also sowed some peas in a bit of gutter.
Tigerella, Burlesque and Queen of the night tomato seeds up in propagator . No chilies or peppers up yet but only set at 21c.

still far too early for us to put anything in (or out) yet...
Have got spuds chitting, onion sets put in trays to keep them aired. Time to thresh out the saved runner and climbing french beans for seed.
We shall really miss Wilko, used to get lots of our gardening seed-type needs there.

Had all good intentions of planting chilli seeds, as well as broad beans and salad over the weekend, but didn't quite get round to it
I did buy some ginger to try growing again :D
